Default Mufflex 24?

Hi all,

I did some searching but could not find anyone who has installed the mufflex 24 inch muffler.

My truck is used for commuting about 6 miles each way and for family camping trips and trips to the beach, I want a little more growl but no droning at all as it will see some decent highway miles with kids sleeping in it.

Anyone have any experience with the 24 inch?

I'm going to assume that the 24 inch isn't really worth it, does the 18 inch have any drone with it? I love a good sounding loud exhaust just don't want any interior drone for the reasons stated above.

I'd check out YouTube for sound clips on each, then read what people are saying about them.

I looked on youtube and the only two videos I could find of the 24 didn't have any comments, I guess I'll try and get information from there instead of here

If I knew anyone on here that has that setup, I'd let you know, but I haven't seen anyone.

The more I am starting to look around the less I see...if that makes sense. Starting too think the 24 isn't much of a change and most people are looking for a more aggressive sound, which is what I am looking for just don't want any drone or excessive cabin noise.

If this helps at all, here's a comparison chart from Mufflex for reference:

Sound level (scale from 1 to 10) 1 being the lowest and 10 being the loudest.

2009-2010 Dodge Ram Stock Muffler Level-2
Mufflex DOD24M Level- 4 Mellow
Mufflex DOD18M Level- 7 Moderate
Mufflex DOD14M Level- 9 Aggressive
Mufflex DODM80 Level-10 Very Aggressive

Hold on, I just found a review on the 24:

"This is for all the guys and gals that wanted to know about the Mufflex DOD24M. I just got done installing it on my truck and I must say that I'm very happy with the sound. At idle it has a nice low rumble (to let you know that there is in fact duels on the truck) Take off from a stop and you get a nice low rumble up through the gears and once you hit your last shift the rumble is gone and its nice and quite in the cab. This is the perfect exhaust for me as I wanted to be able to hear it at lower speeds and not so much when shooting down the highway. Personally for myself I think the other two mufflers that Mufflex offers would be to loud.(this is just my personal preference) and I know evenyone has a different preference. Anyways I hope this helps anyone that was wondering if the the 24 mufflex is the right one for their truck. I would give the DOD24M two horns up!!!!!!!"
