They did it to me as well when I bought my truck in April. I didn't realize until I was sitting in the driver seat with my family in the truck ready to leave and the sales guy is standing right there, I notice there is only half a tank in the truck. The salesman tells me a line that now Dodge will only pay for 5 gallons and they used to reimburse dealers for the gas but part of their new cuts they dont anymore, so the dealership only puts a half a tank in.

At that point I wasn't really in the mood to argue with the guy, just wanted to take my truck home. I dont ever remember worrying about negotating gas in the deal. Was pretty cheap on the dealerships part to save $40!!! It's OK, I will remember that when it comes time for service and oil changes, I will save myself $40 too and take it some place else!

We had a bit of paperwork troubles when we went to pick up the truck, but it ended up working to our advantage. We had ordered the full protection package, but was told that we would have to book an appointment on our own time to get it done. However, since we couldn't pick it up until the next day, they had it all done up, detailed, and a full tank. The salesman we dealt with was a great guy, and I'd recommend him to anybody.

Now to deal with bank issues :/

When I picked up my new Ram last Friday, it was detailed, and the salesman told me that they were going to fill the tank, but since it was a new vehicle, they would not drive it off the lot without the owners permission, and offered to
A) take it and fill it for me, OR
B) go with me to the station for the full tank.

Naturally, I choose option B.....I wanted to be the first person to drive it on a public road.

You should nail them for false advertising - Remember the commercials not too long ago that finished with, "I am Ram and I'm FULL."?

Sorry to hear you didn't get the royal treatment. Hopefully the truck is all good though. Enjoy!

The full tank of fuel is up to the dealership. At ours, we fill the fuel tank and detail the vehicle (new or used) before delivery.

It sounds like that option is for the larger fuel tank, not how much fuel they give you at delivery.
