When I bought my RAM, the salesman told me they only give 20 bucks worth of gas. Oh well they made up for it with a free paint sealant and protector.

Yes.....looked on my window sticker...5.2 gallons is on option.
That's your problem right there, slime dealers in Gladstone. By the way I grew up in Gladstone, small world.

When I picked up mine it had a full tank, this was my 1st ever new vehicle so I just assumed this was normal. I negotiated over the phone and drove 3 hours to pick it up, so they probably knew I wouldn't be back for service. But, I was upset with the mileage (14.5 mpg) on the 1st tank, and later realized they probably filled it with 87. My 1st tank was 89 and I got 16 mpg. That was in the cold, I'm now getting over 17mpg. I can't wait to see if it improves after the 1st oil change, or break in.

Mine's been steadily increasing for nearly a year now! It's not much, usually no more than 1/4 MPG difference per tank. I started out getting less than 14 MPG and I'm pushing 17 with mixed city driving in Houston traffic now!

I'm sorry but your dealer was a jerk or a stingy cheapo. When I bought my truck, they filled the gas tank and washed it before they gave it to me.

Ive never purchased a car and NOT gotten a full tank at fill up. Ive purchased cars from 6 different dealerships in Vegas and always got filled up.

Infact, they filled my new truck up last night when I picked her up I saw this post before I bought my truck, when I was cruising around and made sure it was full!

Odd that I stumbled across this thread. I just traded my 2006 Dakota for a new 2010 Ram 1500. When we test drove the truck, it was on fumes. While they were detailing it, the salesman said they would put fuel in it. I ASSUMED it would be full. I assumed wrong. They put about 10 gallons in it, which was better than nothing. But still....kind of annoying.

I picked mine up last week. There was less than 1/4 tank in it. I mentioned it to the salesman and he grabbed the fuel card and we drove to the gas station to fill it up. Had to prod a little but hey, at least they filled it up!
