I was promised a full tank after the test drive. Took delivery late the next day but only had half a tank. Called salesman and he said no problem, just drop by when in area. Tank was on empty by the time I went back and it took $65 to fill it.

After reading this thread just before picking up my truck yesterday, I had no idea what to expect, especially with the large gas tank option.

I received a full tank of gas, and the added bonus of having the price reduced by another $1500 because the dealership is having the "truck month" sale.

I was impressed.....

Guess I can't complain, they knocked $7,000 off the sticker price and filled the gas tank. They did do a bad detail job and offered to redo it but I said I would rather detail it myself rather than have some hack touch it in the clean-up dept.

when i bought my 2001 ram they had detailed it and filled it up before i got there but then decided it needed to be taken to pick up a rear axle for another truck so when i got it it was filthy and barely had gas. i was pissed

I bought my Ram from Spring Dodge near Houston and they left an excellent impression with me. I had a full tank of fuel, detailed truck and clean windshield. It had been raining on a daily basis for 2 weeks prior to me taking delivery. The salesman I bought it from has become the top salesman @ the dealer, so needless to say, he takes good care of people. I would recommend going to Spring IF you live in that forsaken city known as Houston. I love the dealer but HATE HATE HATE that city. Now I'm in OK and they are hit an miss.

The factory build sheet on my truck lists "YGEA - 5 Additional Gallons of Gas" and a few lines below that is "39LA - Includes Full Tank of Fuel". When I picked the truck up and asked about some gas the dealer specifically told me they didn't fill them up any more. Not getting the build sheet for a couple of months I blindly assumed it was what it was. Knowing what I know now, well, is it any wonder dealers in general get a bad rep? I know there are some excellent dealerships out there they face an uphill battle. Kind of like atta boys and oh shit's.

I wonder if they get to take some kind of deduction from Dodge for them to fill the tanks? If so that bunch I bought from would bring a whole new meaning to the word "stealership".

All i got was a worthless $20 gas card. cheap bastards. spend all that money and get a gas card. i guess its ok since i traded my old truck in and it needed afew things fixed on it. and they gave me more than i owed plus got 12000 in rebates on my new truck.

I have bought and leased many cars in my adult life... never have I picked up a new car without a full take of Gas. My Ram was my first. I was really surprised.
