Default I hate my open rear differential

Too much power for an open differential. What are my options to switch it out for a LSD?

LSD or a locker are your only real options. Not really sure what you're asking.

Auburn or DTT. My choice will be DTT. While you're in it, consider re-gearing depending on your application. You probably have 3.92s. Unless you're on the highway a lot, 4.56s might have some value.

Randy, I just want to know options for a LSD, like what all I have to switch out. Do I need an entire new rear end, or just diff guts, or a drive shaft too...

just need to replace the open carrier with a limited slip one.

Not that easy as you have to have someone that knows what they're doing do it, but, thats all you need.
Now, while you're doing that I'd put new bearings in and all.

Don't rule out buying the entire rear end, meaning the entire axle assembly, you can even take the brakes if they are in good shape. The trick is to find it in a junk yard, and don't forget to make sure its a posi. If you can find one cheap, its just as easy to swap and something you can do yourself.

you'd be hard pressed to find an 07 in the junk yard.

I have an 06 4x4 Hemi. 3.92 Factory LSD (Dodge called Anti-Spin Diff). Great. It will bust your but on wet highway. No traction control on 06 Ram. If your on the road mainly 3.92 is a good trade off for good power, trailer towing, and decent RPM at Highway speed. Not one problem with mine since new. Its posi, 2 solid black marks on dry pavement. But it corners without under steer. There is a boat load of Manufactures and styles of posi diffs. True Lock. Detroit Locker, Air Lockers with switch on dash. Mechanical Lockers. Clutch Lockers like Factory. Do some reading up. Depends on what your doing with the truck realy. Street truck, clutchs are nice cause it allows it to corner well. Serious 4x4 Mechanical Lockers, Suck on street though. Air Lockers, lots of money. Drag trucks like Detroit Locker, bullet proof 100% locked. You need it set up by some one that knows what there doing. Shiming gear lash, dial indicaters used to measure for shimming, its worth the money to pay a good mechanic if your not familiar. You will spend several hundred dollars on new diff, you want it set up right. If you stay with stock gears, factory LSD might be cheaper. You can get Factory diff and re use your ring gear and pinion gear Im pretty sure. They arent cheap. If you can go that route it will save enough to pay for set up.
