What octane fuel are you running in it. If you aren't running high enough octane fuel it could be pinging and detonation that you are hearing. Which is very bad.

ya its fine in the stock, towing and economy, but i had been running 93 octane wen i tried the performance but it idled rough and i had that noise at high rpm's so i jst run it in enconomy now. what causes that rough idle and the pininging at high rpms

more noticable POWER and TORQUE! if you have bolt ons the programmer would let the pcm get the full effect and maximize the power or torque from your ie. heads, cam, intake could offer as opposed to it running all your bolt ons thinking they were stock
