Here is a thought....... I checked prices on the TPS around here and it looks like roughly a $30 part. Were you to just replace it would it be better than what you can do via this adjustment? Anyone have any experience doing that?

Hey again. Got it right this time, .8 closed 3.8 wide open. I might try to get these numbers a little better but that could use some patience...... Anyway the truck seemed to run a little better after adjusting the tps. Hard to tell how significant the difference is because I installed that air filter recently too!! Thanks for the tips.

I just did this to my 02 2500 and, like you, I was only able to get to .7 volts also. I wonder if it would benifit any to oblong the holes to get 1 volt? Hmmmmmm....... My truck has 59,000 on it and just adjusting it did make a difference. I work for NAPA. I may get a new one just to see what that one reads.

Please let me know if you try a new one. I am very curious myself. Thanks

i don't like it at all. I got .7 and 3.84. Before when i stepped on it, it would downshift harder, throw you back in your seat and scream. People would look from blocks away like what the hell is that. (i want that). Now it is way more tame when it downshifts and it doesn't seem to shift as low. Before, the rpm's would climb really fast, now they don't. I want it like it was.

I just tried adjusting mine and im reading like .3 closed and its like 3 volts wide open, I replaced it with a new one and its the same readings. Now my TB is PRETTY dirty and I'm planning on cleaning it this weekend but i didn't know if cleaning it would make that much of a difference.

Default check that little rubber elbow for leaks!

a week ago or so, I was transferring all the sensors from my '95 onto a 2001 replacement engine. They all looked identical, except for the shape of the plug ins.
Anyway, that sensor on the front of the tb has a little elbow, for the vaccum reading. sure enough, it leaks. I just snagged the one off the take off sensor, and put it back on. I just put my finger over one end, and sucked on the other. quick and put your tongue over the hole, and see if it holds. Not very romantic, but works. I didnt even have to buy dinner first. OK, nuff said.
