Default What is the "clunk" sound/feeling after a complete stop?

On my truck - if I coast to a stop I get a small clunk sound/feeling a few seconds after stopping, does this even when I roll a few yards and then stop again. Is this the trans shifting to 2nd and then back to 1st at rest? Not really annoying or anything, but makes me curious if its normal or if I need to get it checked... truck has 150mi on it, 48hrs old.

Thanks for any feedback.

Mine does it too, i now have 20,000 miles on it, its barely noticable, but, its there
Its almost like a brake part is hanging up & then finally closing on the rotor after about a second

it. Not really an issue but I wanted to make sure I didn't have a band loose or clutchpack issue in the trans.

The dealer "full tank at delivery" is probably the first and last time I'll ever have the truck more than 1/2 full lol. I'm a little under 3/4 tank right now and thats apparently where its most noticible.

I have the 98 liter tank and do not have this issue. From the other thread it has something to do with the 121 liter tank.

Surely these things are baffled inside. Guess I could put some cell foam in it if it gets worse.

I mentioned this on another thread but it sounds like Tundra's have the exact same thing and it comes from the driveshaft
Sounds like Lash in the slipjoint maybe?, some of the tundra guys say that repacking the slip joint with grease helps
They both have Spicer drive shafts I believe

You should take it to the dealer as they may have a fix for this issue. It really should be a warranty issue since there is no way there should be bangs or bumping sounds when you bring your RAM to a stop.

No the tanks aren't baffled inside. Due to the design of the pump/pickup/level float assembly, there is no need to baffle the tank.

I unfortunately have the smaller tank and I notice a slight bump with it 3/4's full as well. Sorry to blow your theory.

I hope this is a gas tank issue and not a drive train issue. I can't see why you'd only notice it with 3/4 of a tank if it was a drive shaft problem.
