My truck came onto the lot that morning, and I took it out that night, so there was no window sticker on it yet.

I reported this to Dodge yesterday and the person I spoke with said that was the first they had heard of the problem. Go figure.
I have the (26) gal tank and it does do it (only very slightly). I had to look/feel awfully closely with ~3/4 tank of gas, but I can feel it. FYI.

I guess the one thing to start by doing, is top the tank up from 3/4 and see if it still does it at full

My new Ram also did this. Two seconds after I came to a stop I felt a thud in the drivetrain. First time I thought I had been rearended. I made an appointment with the dealer but it went away. Dealer said it may have been the computer downshifting the tranny after I came to a stop which is a programing issue. So far it has not done it again. I only have 900 miles on the truck.

when I bought the truck they gave me 1/4 of a tank didn't do it. filled it up nothing. At 3/4 it did it, I topped it back up too full, stopped doing it, back to 3/4 it is doing it again. So I guess it is something I have to live with till a fix or something is made for it

I guess it does have something to do with the gas tank. Mine was doing it until I filled up, then it went away. I am down to 3/4 full and the "Thud" came back. Is there anybody you can contact to find out what this is? The dealer does not have a clue. It is very annoying.

Please contact Dodge and report the problem. They will give you a reference number to refer back to. Until everyone with the problem reports it I don't think Dodge is going to do anything about it. The dealership I bought the truck from didn't have a clue either. Unless a lot of complaints reach Dodge the engineers aren't going to look into the matter.

Wow- I'm quite amazed. I have a 2010 Ram that also does this. I have the 32gal tank and just noticed the clunking today. I did a google search and saw this thread. I checked my truck after reading this and sure enough- I was at 3/4 tank. I had to go get more gas and fill it up after reading this... I admit I was skeptical that filling it up would do anything. To my surprise the clunking went away! I thought for sure it was drive line related. What next? Anyone have any recent feedback from dealers?

Great forum!
