Default which shocks are best for a leveling kit

I just recently put the 2" truxx leveling kit on my 2008 1500 2wd. And it is topping out and the ride is bouncy and i need to fix it before i mess it up. I was just wondering which shocks are the best for a 2wd with a 2" leveling kit?

I would recommend getting the Bilstein 5100s. They do raise the front of the truck like a leveling kit. If you already have one you do not have to do this but they will have the amount of play you are looking for. These have more play than stock since they are made for a 2-2.5" lift in the front.

I have these shocks and I love them. They have very good control and great ride as well!

I took a look they do not state they are for either a 4x4 or 2wd. I think the height adjustment would not work for the 2wd but the shock may work.

I am not sure about this, I guess another member can give some advice on this.

I will send you the website so you can take a look over PM, since it is not a site suported website. I do not want to break any rules!

If the leveling shocks from Bilstein don't work out, the regular shocks are phenomenal

Another guy on here went through all the work and leveling to find out his truck (a 2x4 like yours) used the shocks off a 3/4 ton not the 4x4 half ton. So you would need to go with those.

In answer to your original question, I've got Bilstein HDs on the front of my 08 and Monroe Load Levelers on the back. I wanted to go the 5100 route but they were back ordered for the foreseeable future.

The Monroe Reflex is supposed to be a very good shock if you can find them in stock. Also you've got the Rancho route.

Do you use your truck for hauling, do you have a toolbox in the back of the truck? If so I'd recommend something with the load leveling springs like the Monroes. I had the Gabriels on my old GMC and they were very good, but the Monroes just look heavier...and the Gabriels are now Made in Mexico.........right alongside all new rams starting 2011.

If you just go with a Bilstein HD for a 2wd you will be satisfied, a monotube operates almost at any position, uncompressing this shock some as your doing with your spring spacer level kit wont really affect its performance.
