Default I got Lucky

So here's the deal..... Looked at the hemi for a long time and then I almost bought a yota "dodged a bullet on that one" But anyway so I looked at all the aftermarket parts for it before I bought my 2008 5.7 Lonestar Edition. And im trying to find out should I go with a complete Gibson set up or a magnaflow. I like gibson because its not that common and it more of the old school muscle car exhuast. And I also like magna flow because I ve had it before and Its an all around good exhaust. Also keep in mind that in doing headers and exhaust. And any tips on CAI. Thanks guys.

Welcome to the forum. I like the sound of the Gibsons too but prefer the lower tone of the Magnaflow personally.

Lots of CAI kits to choose from. Check some of our supporting vendor sites. They are usually running a special of some kind or another.

I've used Volant systems on several vehicles and really like them as they enclose the cone filter to isolate it from the hot engine compartment air and tie in to the cold air opening in the fenders.

I have the Gibson on my 07 5.7l and I love it. It sounds really good and I turn some heads when I hit the throttle. You are right though about it being uncommon. I think I am on of very few on this forum that have a Gibson exhaust. I want to say the only one but there may be someone that I dont know about that does haha

One thing to do when you get the exhaust ---> The Ram has 2 resonators and 1 muffler. The Gibson exhaust (and others) deletes one resonator and puts a highflow muffler on. The thing to do when you get the exhaust is delete the other resonator. All you do is get a piece of 3" stainless tubing in place of the resonator. This makes a pretty big difference in sound and I would suggest doing it.

Also if you are getting an exhaust you may want to get a Diablosport Predator. I suggest this because with the MDS kicking in you will get some drone. The Predator gives you the ability to take the MDS off and therefor getting rid of the drone

As for the CAI I would suggest getting an S&B intake. I have this as well and it is a very good intake. The thing about the S&B intake is that it makes the most power out of the box style intakes. The good thing about S&B is that they are well priced which makes it a good all around CAI

No, really, the Gibson is a good exhaust.

It's just a matter of what sounds best to you. There's plenty of soundclips online to listen to.

I was looking at the volant and they are really the only company out there that has the real CAI like K&N have there CAI but when you break it down to how it actually works it's just a Ram air intake because its sitting on top of the enigne Compartment. And im really wondering how I can take it over the 405HP mark just becasue I really hate the gay mans Chevrolet....... seirra.
