Default Storboard vs. Rocker Pods running boards

Has anyone heard of anyone having either of these running boards on their rig? Rocker Pods seem alot bulkier and overpriced than the Storboards, but they also seem a little tougher. I was also concerned with water getting into either one....I don't plan on submerging them underwater while driving, but things happen! Is there any other company out there with a similar product that's worth looking at? Thanks for the info.

I haven't heard of either, but I will look into it. You've got my curiosity!

Here's what RockerPods had to say about water:

Honestly I can say that the Rocker Pods are very impervious to water during normal driving conditions (rain, snow, car wash etc.) However they are NOT 100% air tight, this is done for a reason. As you can imagine on a hot day the air humidity may be very high, and at night the temperature drops, water will condense inside the Pods and make for a very damp environment if they were AIR TIGHT. This is also true of your vehicle itself. We actually would recommend that if your Rocker Pods are very full of supplies, the inclusion of moisture absorbing pouches is beneficial.

Storboards-"Powder coated and weather stripped for water resistance"

I know that you have probably already read all of these kinds of reviews but I do wonder, just like you mentioned, if any of our members have these. I will keep track of this thread as well. Thank for bringing something new to the ForumZ!

I also noticed on the Rocker pods, the doors to get into the storage portion seem a little small. I plan on putting fishing rods and axes and outdoorsy stuff in there. I think the Storboards seem more wide open with the option of pulling out the drawers to customize what you need. I think I'm going with the Storboards, but it's always good to have options.....and you can never have enough storage!
