Default Center Console - Transmission Lighting Question

I noticed that my Park, Drive, etc. markings on the center console are not illuminated at night like the other center console items.

Also noticed that the 4x drive settings around the knob are not lit as well.

Do I have bulbs that need to be replaced or is this a design oversight?

Same here. When I got in at night for the first time I was like "wtf?"

Guess that's just the way it is in these units.

Not sure if this is a model change thing or not. I would assume the center console should be lit though.

I would think it would be lit as well.

What does the dealer have to say?

Mine does not light up. It shows what gear you are in on the instrument panel. The green LED in the overhead console gives off just enough light to see. I don't find the need for the center shifter to be lit.

Thanks all for the replies.

Really became apparent to me one night when it started to pour and I reached down to engage the 4x and couldn't see the darn knob.

Looks like a trip to the dealer for me.

I have a bunch of missing screws in the wheelwells so I'll put lights on the punchlist.

And my truck was made on a Wednesday, go figure.

Thats pretty weird that some trucks have it and some dont. I would go to the dealer and tell them. They will replace it if it never worked. Good luck with everything man!

In retrospect, I went out and checked mine again. Sorry, but my trans shifter numbers do come on at night when my headlights are on. I guess I never noticed as I have the overhead green LED shining light down.
