Default '10 Red Sport - muffler question

Just ordered a magnaflow pt# 12288: 18" single 3" in and dual 2.5" out. After doing some reading on these forums, seems like that will get me the sound I want..throaty and deep yet not obnoxious. (I have my harley for that )

I tried finding a 'how to' on the swap, but didn't come up with much. Seems like a pretty straight forward swap..but if anyone has a how to, that'd be great. My only real concern is that the factory mufflers 'in' is offset, whereas the magnaflow is center. I'm thinking I probably need weld up an offset to meet the 3" pipe to the inlet?

Any advice and tips would be great.

and since no 'new truck' thread is good without pics.......
The only thing i've done since the purchase (about 2 weeks ago) is had chrome running boards installed. I had them throw it in when I bought the truck, just don't have a picture yet.

...and 2 pics of my bike, just for kicks. Must be some other harley guys here??

Hello and welcome to the RAMz. Sorry can't offer any help on the muffler, still deciding on what I am going to do. Leaning on the Mufflex 14 or 18", it's sold as a bolt on kit with no welding. Someone else will chime in I'm sure on the 18" magnaflow installation. See you around the forum.

Sounds (no pun intended) like the Magnaflow works very well when MDS kick in also.

well the MDS would not have kicked in on that film, it doesn't kick in unless you hold a steady pedal, usually at any speed over 30

I have yet to see a film with picture & sound of anyone driving say at any given speed & holding a steady pedal, so we could hear it when the MDS is functioning

Sorry, I should have clarified from my past research, it seems Magnaflow is a good choice for the MDS Hemis.

I only found two clips this weekend that had the MDS kick in. Could barely tell on the one, and the other you couldn't tell at all.
