Default cats

If i was to just cut the cats out and weld in pipes on an 04 hemi would i throw codes and get a check engine light on? another questions if i was to use high flow cats does that throw codes? i want to get the cats out and put on short tube headers but i do not want to throw codes and have check engine lights on.

Yes and no. Funny how people worry about the MIL coming on but never about how no downstream feedback will effect the fuel trims.

I'd go high flow cats (with the right number of O2 sensors) vs. no cats.

what about "punching out " the cats, will that still affect mil and the fuel trim??? i've thought about it, but it seems to be tooooooo much work just to be too damn cheap.

Yes, it will and it is indeed a pain in the ass.

The o2 sensors AFTER the cats have no effect on the fuel trims and adjustments the computer will make. They are strictly to monitor the operation of the cat's and make sure they are in working order. o2 sensors BEFORE the cats will have the effect on changing fuel delivery.

o2 spoof w/ anti-foulers works on some cars. Worked great on my old 3.8 supercharged grand prix.

Try the anti-fouler trick bmellon.

Get 2 sparkplug anti-fouler plugs. Drill out one of them, screw them together, then screw the o2 sensor into it. It works on alot of cars and will remove the o2 code.

Worked great on my old grand prix.
