Default Need help on a big lift

Alright I installed a skyjacker 6in suspension a while back and am now ready to go bigger. The kit dropped my axle and lower control arms (but not the upper arms), blocked the rear, and had me do nothing with my torsion bars.

My plan now is to crank the torsion bars down about 3in (Using aftermarket keys) and add 3in leaf spring drop shackles to the rear then stack on a 3in body lift. I can hardly crank the bars more than 2 inches without the cv's binding so I plan on welding extra length in the axle drop brackets to make sure the cv's stay at an acceptable angle and i assume the kit dropped the lower arms to accomodate the extra 3in. My main concern is the angle the upper control arms will be at since the kit already put them at a questionable angle. I would love any advice on how to correct this problem since I cannot find anywhere that sells upper drop brackets. I am also aware I will also need a custom front drive shaft along with possible shock extension brackets.

I hope by the end I can fit 42's with some shaving.

Any input/advice or comments on things I am overlooking would be greatly appreciated.

That sounds like a really good idea! That will look awesome man!! I cant wait to see it!

So the kit that you got did not come with upgraded steering knuckles and the control arms??

You have a 6" lift now and then are getting an extra 3" with the torsion/schackle combo and then the 3" body lift?? You want to go up 12" in total?

I want to really help you out man but I am not sure on the control arms.

I saw a kit made for our trucks for 10". I will try to find that and then let you know what they have done to get the 10" suspension lift working properly.

Yes the kit came with upgraded steering knuckles-that is how the lift allowed me to gain 6" without touching the torsion bars(one reason i bought it so I could use the bars for added lift). 12" is exactly what I want!
The control arms really do have me worried about this lift

Well I sent you a link for a 12" lift maybe they can help you out.

I am not sure about the control arms man. I never really looked into stuff like that YET! haha. I wish I could help you out more! I hope that site gives you some direction. If you ask them they may let you know what you want to know!

Let me know if they helped you so I feel better haha

I love the lift, it allowed me to slap on some 37" BFG KM2 MT's which I absolutely love. The ride is like stock (although the steering and cornering really takes some getting use to). A decent lift all around.

I'll attempt to post some pics of my truck as it is now with the 6".

Nice lift you got there. The higher you go, the components need attention but I think you realize that.

Looking forward to reading more about this as you make progress on this project.

That is a beautiful looking truck!! sounds like a good plan! addressing all the major issue you can for see coming...just curious what the angle of the upper control arm looks like now! as already mentioned its not to often people need issues with upper control arm angle addressed!

The trucks looks sick, i think it would look better without the brush guard IMO
Can't wait to see pics when this is done!
