Default Transmission Slip or Shudder

I have a 2010 Laramie 4X4 Crew. I have noticed lately that it seems like the transmission is slipping between gears. If I accelerate hard itseems to work fine. It is when I am just driving easy that it happens. If I watch the tach it actualy goes up a couple hundred of rpm's just before it shifts. I really cant hear it or feel it but it definately does. Is this what some of you are talking about by the "shudder". I know its got the 5 year/100,00 waranty and will crap out long before I get there if it is an issue but it bothers me. For $40k it shouldn't do it. Thanks in advance.

Does it do it in Tow mode as well? Sound more like the MDS/ECO characteristics than trans to me. The MDS makes mine very laggy at times... not crazy about it but also not crazy about 12mpg in Tow mode all the time either.

Yeah, mine does that just before it hits OD, which I don't use unless I am on the freeway. Just before it shifts into the highest gear, it bumps up about 200 RPM.

My '99 did that as well.

Torque converter shudder isn't uncommon with the 545RFE. Let the dealer check and replace it if need be.

So what I am experiencing is the torque converter locking up? Is that what you guys call a shudder?

I get a shudder too, but usually only when idling down from a slow speed to a stop. I've heard this referred to before as a converter shudder. 'Course I thought they were referring to the catalytic converter ... I thought maybe it had to do with the MDS. Either way, it's slightly annoying, but it seems to be a fairly common complaint.

Converter shudder occurs asa the torque converter goes into lockup, usually around 45-50 mph in typical driving conditions.
