Default A/C DIY Blower Fix

Ok. My problem started last week. My A/C is blowing cold but even on recirc and turned on high, the air does not blow hard enough to cool the cab. Additionally, the blower motor will get louder as I turn the dial, but still the air will not blow any harder. Since so many folks are having the same or similar issues, I found another forum with a good DIY that takes 10-15 mins and no cost. Check out the following link and read "Reply #5". If you read on, countless owners claim to have tried this DIY and say it works like a charm. I will be trying it this week. Follow up with your own results so we can get our A/C units back in service!!

don't do it!
removing the door eliminates recirculation mode. from then on out the truck is sucking air from outside to cool as opposed to recirculating the cold air. a/c will blow but not nearly as cold, know this for a fact as the door in my dad's truck broke completely and fell out.

replacing the recirculation door requires removing the entire dash assembly, as tough as that sounds, is not that bad. took us 5 1/2 hours from start to finish - after doing it once, could probably cut that time down drastically.

Not everyone has 5-6 hours to spend pulling out their dash or paying $400-$500 to take it to a shop. I would guess a lot of folks are willing to sacrifice recirc to save that money and/or the hassle of a dash removal. But, now we have two solutions that requires little or no money!!

It worked!! The recirc flapper had broken off and was lying on top of the opening from the blower. So the blower was having a hard time getting air past the flapper. Pulled the flapper out and reinstalled the blower and now the A/C blows like hell! But when it's 105 degrees and I don't have recirc you can tell me you told me so! haha
