I've never gotten a cheap looking Moog but it has been a couple of years since I used them.

Well...ended up getting TRW for some reason, but, they were $180 for all four, which wasn't bad at all compared to everyone else's prices.

So...knocked the old ones out...and, they were bad. As a matter a fact, they were very bad. The balls didn't only pivot, but, they went up down all around, and weren't much bigger than the hole...so...yeah, it needed them.

But, installed the new pretty ball joints...

The squeaking is gone Also, my 6" of play in the steering wheel went down to about 3". So...checking further into it, everything is in perfect like new shape...besides the pitman arm. You see the pitman arm move about 1/4", then the wheels begine to turn...lol

So, ordered a new one of those, will be doing that Thursday. Didn't get the exhaust or tranny done today, but, we figured thursday since it had to go back up on the rack anyway.

So...yay...no more squeakage or fear of a wheel popping off. Handles much tighter as well.

Congrats on the new ball joints. Maybe your knuckles won't be quite as white as you drive :-)
I've replaced a few tie rod ends in my time but never a ball joint. And I'm looking at all four myself soon (140K miles on my 99). Anyone reckon parts and labor for this job?

the cheapest price I found for having someone do it was $800, which I couldn't stomach.

So, I price shopped and got places to price match all the way down to $180 for the parts, and me and my neighbor (manager/tech of the local Midas here) did it ourselves and my payment is helping him whenever he needs it
