Default front end ticking noise when in 4wd

I have noticed my pickup making a ticking noise when im in 4wd. I have read a few threads and i checked the u joints on the axles and they seam tight but i did notice the front drive line had very little up and down play on the pinion end. Any thoughts?

the driveline u-joint shouldn't have any play... replace the u-joint... also make sure the driveline is in time. from there, it could be outer axle u-joints, or it could be the bearings in the front diff, or axle coupler.
