Not if it's only 5-6 PSI. I think this kit could be a stepping stone to more with the addition of supporting mods. Maybe then you could bump up the boost. Who knows what they will come up with, but I am definitely taking it into consideration even though my first choice would be a turbo.

I know the truck 5.7 has cross-bolted mains and all but not the lower/thicker skirts of the 6.1. I need to do some studying on our core parts/cams/compression/pistions/rods etc...

And yeah I'd rather have a turbo or twins having come from the modded Audi 2.7l world. Although I'll say I'm really impressed with this new Eaton core. Doesn't seem to have all the inherent cooling and efficiency issues of the previous designs. Just look at the modded CTS-V and Corvettes... more compact than a turbo setup as well.

The Eaton TVS series of superchargers are quieter and much more efficient in terms of heat production when compared to the older Roots style they are replacing. As mentioned they come stock on the CTS-V, ZR-1, upgrade option for the Cobra GT500 and they also come on all Roush Stage 3 2010 models and Roush P-51 series mustangs.

BTW Eaton produces the TVS series and sells them to Roush, Chevy, Magnuson and Edlebrock.

I can tell you first hand that the 2.3L Eaton TVS is an awesome blower. I have one on my 2008 Roush 427R. My little 4.6L 3-valve makes 490rwhp on 11psi tuned to a A/F ratio of 11.5 and 17 degrees timing. Obvisously I left alot on the table but this nice safe tune will ensure my motor lives a good detonation free life until I can build a forged stroker.

Kenne Bell has been working on a Twin Screw for our trucks but I'm not sure if they gave up or if they are still researching. Here is a link that mostly applies to the Challenger but about 2/3s down the page they offer some Hemi Tech Tips.

I would just go with an STS kit. Will probably be cheaper and much more power efficient. Just call STS, i got priced a full kit with tuning and new injectors for $5595.00

Price as follows straight from them:

$6,450.00 black and about $7,300.00 for the Krome, these are approximate prices but they should be close….

Thanks again,
Bob Roese

Is that an intercooled kit? What type and size turbo did they quote b/c their website just says "turbo" under the "what's included" page? That could be a good price depending on what all is included. I also would not run the canned tune they include with the kit. With all that you have invested why not spend the $400-500 and get it on a dyno with a trusted and reputable tuner. That way you can see the air/fuel ratio at every rpm, you know how much timing is in the tune and you will also have some peace of mind. I am only speculating because I have not seen (not that STS would divulge the info anyway) their canned tune but canned tunes are usually very "safe" because they aren't wanting anyone to blow up their trucks... this also leaves you room for more hp gaines that your custom dyno tune will get you.
