Guys I have too agree with most of you, I love the sound of a good engine purring away....but when you use these trucks for work every day and have to pay the fuel bill it sure would be nice for it to go farther on that same dollar.

I, personally, would NOT buy a hybrid Ram. But I would encourage everyone else to purchase one so it would leave more gasoline for ME!

Of course, as long as it was a Hemi Hybrid like the Aspen. It would be kind of silly to not take better gas mileage at no penalty to power, now wouldn't it?

Default Slight slant toward hybrid

Wow ... I must be living on a different planet than some of you. On my planet oil companies are just about as evil as illegal arms dealers and big pharmaceuticals, plus we are running out of oil. It would seem to me that if we can do the same thing for less less money (fuel wise, not vehilichle purchase) and be better for the environment it's a win win.

Now what I do understand is the notion that hybrid technology is crap for big vehichles and that it essentially results in a reduction in power. I didn't buy a truck to suck fuel and belch smoke, but I did buy it haul hard and preform well when needed. I can't see them making a hybrid truck right now that stands up to what our current Rams do and that's why I answered undecided.

This thread does explain to me why when I ask about increased preformance of various exhaust parts I get mostly responces about how great this or that muffler sounds. For me the improved sounds isen't the goal, it's a byproduct. After all if I was just looking for sound I could upgrade the stero and loop a track of the last aero turbine driveby posted on youtube.

IF there was no down sides, (still have the 5.7 HEMI, same towing ability, some engine sound, exhaust note, etc) and just better MPG, sure, why not?

What would be the problem with having a Ram with a HEMI and getting 25+ MPG?

As for the batteries, i don't keep vehicles that are not under warranty, so no biggie to me lol

I didn't buy a HEMI for fuel economy. My wife has a Corolla for that mess. 9 times out of 10 we still drive the HEMI around town just because it's bigger and more comfortable...and NOT a Corolla!

Well, like so many other say...I didnt buy the truck to get 27-40mpg...I bought it for the power, and to haul stuff occationally...I couldnt imagine a V8 sounding like, HHHHHHH...Maybe after i pay this off, ill buy a civic hybird for better mpg for A-B driving, cuz thats what they are made for...
