Well disposing of the battery is an afterthought, although y'all should buy them and support the nickel industry but I'll stick to my diesel.

Well if there canning the light duty cummins this doesn't surprise me, more people probably would have bought a 1500 diesel.

I don't know yet, but am leaning towards not owning one. The slight MPG increase would be countered by higher purchase price and having to replace the batteries every 4-5 years or more.

Sorry guys, i'm playing devil's advocate here. I voted 'I don't know' simply due to how they would have to DO the hybrid to keep the truck functional. Now, if they developed a hybrid that had dependability, power, towing capacity, AND betterfuel economy... I'd have to look hard at one as a daily driver. Now, saying that, when I want to hammer it down and blast... no hybrid for me.

Sure, after they've been out for awhile and fix any bugs that come about. I drive 55 miles each way to work. So that would help me out a bit, lol.

^^^^ if and when this happens....we are ALL screwed. We all seen what happened 2 years ago when crude hit $150/barrel, thankfully it was short lived. The trickle down effects of that brief upshot went through the economy as fast as diarrea. With similar results.
Big Oil?? Love em or hate em, our whole 'system' revolves around what we have become accustomed and rely on everyday. They are our 'comfort' food.

Politics and the extremist lobby are what decides/dictates how we live. You and I are just little tiny 'rocks caught in the tread' of the wheel of the corrupt machine in Washinton.

Image and appearance:
Thats all it is about. Green, non green, agree, disagree.
Offer a 'hybrid' and the tree huggers will love ya. Stockholders will smile.
Don't, and you are evil.
Whether or not it 'helps' the enviroment in the long run, that is not important. It's about Today.

Look, if you hate the big oil company. Buy a horse and buggy..
What they profit off of us, pales in comparison to what some special interest group does to this Country in the form of Increased regulations. Increased user fees, Increased taxes, (which is why everything is made offshore now)...can you say gazillion dollars gone for good???
That is a 'spoke' out of our wheel that will never come back. Our 'wheel' is not 'round' anymore.
Special interest just wants to be on the 'soap box' today. if they actually did 'fix something' today, they would be 'out of a job' for tomorrow.
And of course the most valuable reason of all: The value of our Freedom.

Screw Algore and all his followers
