Default Newb Tranny fluid level question

545rfe (I think that's the right) in 2007 slt 4.7 33k miles

First Dodge Ram for me..picked up 2 weeks ago and still poking around, under, and through to familiarize myself.

Anyway with engine running, fully warmed up and the tranny in each gear before checking -the fluid level is half way between cold and hot.

Should I be keeping this at the full mark? Or does it matter?

Thanks.

I personally like to keep my fluids at the full mark . Lets me know when I check them if I have a leak . You should be ok though . 1/2 quart won't kill it .

You're fine where you are. Without knowing the temp of the fluid, I'd leave it where it is.

Thanks, I'll drive for a while and check it fully hot before adding any.

On a side note: The members here are fantastic about responding quickly...a nice thing for nervous newbies like me.

Thanks again
