Default Tuner or Intake?

Ok, I've racked up enough cash for either a tuner or an intake. So the question is, which one?!

Superchip or Diablo
vs
Volant intake

If you say tuner, which would be better? I know Diablo has a few different options than the superchip, I live in a valley and travel up and down both sides of it everyday, towing a boat now and then to the lake. Don't plan on doing too much engine work in the near future. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Tuner by far. You cannot reap the small benefits a CAI provide without a tuner. You will see much better drivability and power from a tuner.

As far as which tuner, thats up to you. Ive looked into SuperChips, Diablo (both trinity and predator), and Bully Dog. All look good so far, but someone mentioned SuperChips coming out with a revision to allow the adjustment of Torque Management, which if they did, Id definitely go with them.

The tuner will be the biggest bang for your buck but you won't realize all the benefits until you combine it with an intake and exhaust.

I like the Volant intakes. Used them on several vehicles. And I like the Predator for it's tuning flexibility.

Good luck with your mods!

Exhaust is already up and going, duals off the muffler! Tuner it is, was just looking at the trinity but it doesn't work for 05's, just 06 and up, so I think Predator it is! And with RDP's $289 price, will give me some more cash towards some other things!

Tuner. It'll get you more low end and a nice fat torque curve. A CAI will only benefit breathing in the upper RPM band.

I would have to say get the CAI first. If you get the tuner it wont work as well as it would if you had the CAI.

I did hear something about the stock intake on the new Rams being pretty good though.

Well I just wasted my breath you already bought it hahaha

Yea i've heard good things about the new Rams intakes as well, but that doesn't help my 05' Predator got ordered last night, and intake won't be too far away, I'm just hoping it gets here before I journey from PA to SC the first week of July
