Being that you are going with such a low profile you going to have a small diameter then stock! and i have seen people run 305/55/20 without rubbing...so i think it will be safe to say you won't have any issues, as long as your not lowered or anything!

The word is 305/55/20 on stock 20x9s (+20mm) on a 4th gen (2008+) will rub some on the sway bar at full lock.

305/50/20 Mickeys would be slightly shorter than stock (275/60/20) and the 305/55s, but 2 inches wider than stock! I wonder if and and where that might rub. The Mickey tompson specs say 9 inch is wide enough and I kinda like that retro fat look.

I've been unable to find a single person to confirm or deny this combination. Might prove to be an expensive test.

Thanks.

LOL, He has a 3G 2005 Ram
...every members ride is listed on the top right corner of each post.

a 325/60R20 is a 35"x12.5" and he likely has a lifted or leveled 4x4

Here's a 4G Ram running a 35"x12.5" Mickey Thompson tire on stock 20" chrome wheels but he's a lifted (level kit) 4x4 ,
he has wheel spacers and he says they rub the sway bar at full lock.

Get some 1/4" spacers and you're going to be fine. Try to fit them without first, if they dont rub the A-Arm your good!
if they do rub put your spacers on and just dont crank the wheel all the way when you do a sharp turn.

as mentioned before, even a stock size tire can rub the sway bar on a 2WD 4G Ram...but it wont hurt anything, jeeesh it's just a bent piece of round bar
worst you can do is rub the paint off and it will never damage the tire.

Bump back on this topic..

@City, what size tire is that on the black 4th gen quad. Looks like 305/50/20.

I'm still thinking a 325/50/20 with a 1/2 inch wheel spacer will work with no rub on a 4th gen 2wd stock height. Just worried about how much meat I will have on studs. Someone said I might get 8 full turns and 5 should be enough. Stock gives me almost 14 turns.

Great information and something I will be watching as the year progresses as I'll be hunting tires before the next snowfall.

I'v got a 2009 2wd ram 1500 Big Horn Crew. I put 305/50/20's on my stock alloy wheels (sliver, not chrome). They are General Grabber AT's. They rub at full lock on the sway bar. I tried 1/4" spacers with no luck. So I stacked up double 1/4" spacers just to see if it would be helpful to go with 1/2", but it still did not work for me. If you are thinking about running this size street tire, you actually might not rub. My tread pattern wraps around the sidewall and the tread is like a 1/2" deep. Street tires might be alright.

Also, I had the tires put on before I installed a 2" truxx level kit. The level kit did not affect how much the tires were rubbing! There was no noticeable change between stock and leveled height as far as rub goes.
