Default External Waste Gate Install

I am considering doing a EGR Cooler Delete followed by installation of an external Waste Gate. Has anyone done this? Did it help milage? improve torque? cause any other problems? affect warranty???

thanks for your comments.

I've seen it done and, with similar mods, the engine ran great. As for the 10/100k warranty, kiss it goodbye.

So much for that idea. The warranty is more important to me.

I'm also afraid to modify mine even tho I've had about 17 Check Engine Light episodes lately. Dealer has ordered me a new turbo. Hope this fixes the problem. I do drive it the weay it's supposed to be driven. When it's right, it's an absolute bear.

Have had the new turbo installed about 500 miles ago and so far good to go. Brake works better and the power is right up there once again. Hopefully, this will at last cure my CEL woes.

The h&s mini maxx is the way to go. It is incredible, you will wonder why you didn't do before. I am getting 19 mph hand calculated with 34's. I even still have the 1st cat still on. I can't wait to put the MBRP downpipe on.

I have the Pro-gate wastegate kit, but it was delivered to the wrong address, and I did not get it when I was deleting the EGR system. I used block off plates, but the wastegate will bolt on where the EGR was, on the exhaust manifold.
The purpose of the wastegate is to release excess drive pressure, and cause less heat and stress on the head gasket. Adding a tuner and deleting EGR will increase pressure and exhaust gas temperature to dangerous levels. Head studs and a wastegate will make it reliable at a higher power level.
