Well, the title says it all, and I've noticed the A/C clutch isn't engaging, the wheel isn't spinning inside of the belt. Now, it might not be blowing HOT persay, but it's always hot as hell here, so I can't tell. Any ideas? Thanks
Like the previous post stated, if the charge is low the clutch will not engage and all you will have is hot air blowing out of the vents. I would check the fuse for the A/C compressor first and also see if you can manually turn the inner part (without the engine running of course). If the fuse is good and the compressor has not seized up you need to put some gauges on and see what your pressures are. If its just a bit low you can add some refrigerant slowly to the low side (Large hose) until the compressor starts to cycle on and off. Typical pressures when everything is working properly is ~30psi on the low side and ~150 psi on the high side (when the compressor is turning). Hope you can sort this out. If you don't feel comfortable doing this yourself you should take it to an A/C specialist for diagnostics and service.
