Default My experience with the Fort Mill,SC dealer today

Took a ride down to Stateline Dodge in Fort Mill,SC this morning . . . only slept about three hours because I was so excited about getting into a new Ram today. So the drive was interesting, fighting all that Charlotte traffic, thinking of the best route home so as not to worry about some crazy denting up the new ride . . . but no worries about that. There was no new Ram for me today. After being VERY upfront yesterday with the sales rep, it was pretty much decided what the price would be, that it would be done today, and all would be good to go.

Or so I thought. Upon doing the appraisal, they realize I have a 4.7 instead of a HEMI. Or so this was their excuse. Any moron who has been around Dodges for more than two hours can tell the difference between the two trucks. Well after this "realization", they come back with their offer. $824 for 60 months . . . excuse me? For a regular cab truck? These people are more than just nuts. They managed to catapult themselves into Uber Douchedom in a matter of minutes. I can't remember ever being that insulted and peed off at any dealer, let alone a Dodge dealer.

If anyone has purchased there before, or plans to in the future, I definitely wish them much better luck. But after stewing on it all day, I felt it necessary to vent to my fellow Ram owners out there.

I felt like doing this to the sales rep after he read off that payment:

That really sucks man, and these people are competent enough to sell Dodge's, lol? Even so, that's the best offer they could come up with? Just wish the dealership where I bought my truck hadn't closed, I would go back to them for a new one in a heartbeat!

All I want is a R/T. No bells and whistles, just the R/T package. I don't care if it has the monster Media Center 430 radio or whatever, I'll just change that out anyways.

I've emailed two other dealers around here that show having them. Just can't believe that they weren't willing to give me jack crap for my truck.

By my math, it seems like they were only giving me around $10,000 as trade-in value. I know I don't have a HEMI, but it should be worth quite a bit more than that.

It is crazy what they try to pull. When I got mine the first number they came back with was $697 a month for 72 months at 4.9%, 3 hours later I walked out at $442 for 72 months at 1.9%. Good luck with the other two dealers you emailed, don't take any crap!

I agree, and one would think they would be working to get the '10's off the lots to make room for the '11's coming soon. I might just start checking it out for grins and giggles to see what I would get, even with a smaller truck/engine than you.

WOW, Daniel. I am so sorry. They, Hoover Dodge in Savannah GA, pulled that with us yesterday. My truck "was going to receive an insulting offer". We told them that the trade in value wasn't even going to be discussed UNTIL they found the truck I wanted! Then after talking with my favorite dealer, Hilton Head New River Auto Mall, and our favorite tech, Remerson228, we found out that the truck I was looking for doesn't even exist! Best of luck and give them hell!!! And as usual, keep us posted. 11,000 sets of eyes are better than your one set! Post what you want and see what we turn up with on our ends!
