Default Custom Wheel Well Lighting

I'd like to add some LEDs in the wheel wells of my Ram. Red in the rear and orange in the front. I only want the rear ones on when I hit the brakes and the front ones when the turn signal for that side is on/blinking. Otherwise I'd like a white glow full time when the lights are on.

Anyone have any ideas on how to do this? I assume I'll need a wiring diagram so that I know which wires to tap. I'll also need an LED resource and a way to mount the the LEDs.

Any help would be appreciated.

Flexible strip lights seem like the best idea to me. Wiring is the easy part.

definitally a unique idea! lookign forward to seeing some pics. my only input would be to try and hide the lights if you can so you only see the glow...may give it a better effect

Absolutely hiding the lights. I only want the "GLOW"

That's the way my interior led's are. I stuck them along the top edge of the windshield so they cant be seen and they light up the interior like daylight.

What's (or Who's) your resource for the LED's or Flexi Strip Lights?

Shockingly, I got the strips from Auto Zone. They're reasonably priced, already have 3M two sided tape applied and can be cut to a shorter length if needed. I did a write up on it a while back.

Got a link to the write up? Are they water-proof?

If I can get them at Auto-Zone, I may have a weekend project!

The write up won't help with what you're doing. The lights are sealed inside the strip so all you have to do is make sure the wiring is sealed. The brand I used is Pilot but I know they sell more than one brand. They had red in stock but I'm not sure if they offer orange.

That's definitely a neat idea! Be sure to post pics when you get that done!
