Question Differance Between the Ram 1500 R/T 5.7L vs Ram 1500 5.7L

Hey Y'all,

I am thinking of getting a Ram 1500. Is there a differance in performance with the Ram 1500 R/T 5.7L VS. Ram 1500 5.7L?

I need to have a truck (Witch will be a Ram 5.7L hands down) to pull my Magnum to the track, and to have it as a daily driver, thats why I do not want a 2500.

I really like the R/T's but they do not come with 4x4, and I want a 2 door (no cab).
What do Y'all think?

THANKS

SON

I know that the long bed Rams have a bigger tow rating than the short bed model

from what i have read, the R/T model gets down the track faster, but what the difference is i don't know

i talked to a few mechanics about this cause i was looking at doing the R/T as well....it used to actually mean alot more than what it does today...when the R/T first came out it was a full suspentiona dn performance package upgrade. these days its more or less the style and a badge. it will get down the track faster only because it is a reg cab short box meaning its lighter...i thnk all R/T are 2WD as well to save on the weight. as for the engine, suspention, frame...its the same as a regular truck

If I'm not mistaken 4.10 gears are also part of the R/T package.

Isnt it the same truck? The R/T just has the hood no? They should have the exact same power and the suspension should be the same. Really it is just an appearance deal

The R/T has:
4.10 gears
2600RPM stall
Alpine 7 speaker system
Bucket seats(Power driver)
A different torque converter for rougher, more crisp shifts.
R/T specific tuned exhaust
Leather wrapped steering wheel with all controls at the wheel.

Here is a video for the 09' Debut.. Some things have changed. i.e the sport hood.

Here is a good review with a picture gallery that will help you see large pictures inside and out.

I have a hard time buying 13.7's in a stock configuration, even at sea level with optimum weather conditions.
