Default 4th gen axle hop?

I noticed that my 4th gen has a hard time smoking the tires or launching at the track without a lot of axle hop. Is it because of the four link and coils? It seems that as soon as the tires start to spin, the computer pulls back power and the tires start to grab until the axle starts to hop violently and I have to back out if the throttle. Has anyone else experienced this and is there a remedy?

If you can, try turning off your ESP. The old skool approach to axle hop was staggered shocks and traction bars.

That was with ESP off. Tire pressure was 40 psi.
