Default Quad cab vs. Crew cab vs. Laramie.. help!

I am looking into buying a new ram very soon, im very interested in the 2009-2010 models, but budget for me right now makes 2009 more realistic.

I am VERY picky when it comes to the ram that i want, with that being said i would REALLY like to know the difference between all the types of cabs that the ram has.

I really want the SMALLEST cab (besides regular cab). so I would like it to be a 4 door, but i want the area for the backseats to be the smallest. What is the difference between all the types of cabs.

Also on the 2009 models, are there two lengths for the bed? I have a 2005 ram and it has a 6 1/4th foot bed, there is also a 8 ft bed, does this go for the 2009 rams as well?

Any and all help is greatly appreciated, I will be making the purchase very soon

First, welcome to the forum, since I see you're new here! I found a thread where the differences in cab styles is explained, better than I could, lol, but hope it helps:

http://www.ramforumz.com/showthread....ight=crew+quad

As for the difference in bed lengths, that I'm not too sure on, the measurements that is, for the '09+ trucks, but I'm sure one of those guys/gals can help answer your question there!

When you get a chance, be sure to introduce yourself to everyone in the Newbie Checkin and get your official Ram Z welcome!

Hello and welcome to the forumz. I second what Cajun said, please take the time to stop by the newbie section and introduce yourself. We've got lots of excellent folks here, who're always willing to lend a hand.

This info is straight from the Ram Trucks website.

The regular cab Ram (for 2010) is available in either an 8' or 6'4" box.

The Quad Cab (the shorter of the 4 door is only available in the 6'4" box.

The Crew Cab (what used to be called Mega Cab) only comes with 5'7" box.

There is very little (if any) difference between the '09 and '10 Rams in this regard.

I have an '10 Crew Cab. There is lots of room in the back. I joke around and tell people that you can lay down and have a party in the back seat. My 10 y/o son is able to stretch out and still have lots of room.

I used to have an '08 Quad Cab. There was enough room in the back seat, though it was significantly less than what I've got now in my Crew Cab. As a rough guess I would say that there is almost a 12"-18" more leg room in the Crew Cab.

Regardless of model or package, a Quad Cab is the same size across the option package line.

So, it's either a standard cab, quad cab or Mega/Crew cab choice.

The regular cab seats a maximum of three people on its standard bench seat, and it can be had with either a 6-foot-4-inch bed or an 8-foot version

The extended cab ("Quad Cab") can seat up to six in two bench rows and comes only with the 6-foot-4 bed.

The Ram's crew cab model expands rear-seat legroom even further, but is only available with a 5-foot-7-inch bed.

The base ST model (available in regular and extended cabs) comes standard with 17-inch steel wheels, vinyl floor covering, air-conditioning, a 40/20/40-split front bench seat, vinyl upholstery, a folding rear bench seat (extended cab only), a tilting steering column and a six-speaker stereo with a CD player and an auxiliary audio jack. Options include chrome-clad steel wheels, cruise control, a bedliner and satellite radio.

The SLT (all cab styles) adds 17-inch alloy wheels, carpet floor covering, cloth upholstery, cruise control, full power accessories, a rear power-sliding window, keyless entry, a trip computer and satellite radio. Exterior options on the SLT include 20-inch alloy wheels, a sunroof, "RamBox" storage bins mounted on the sides of the bed, foglamps, rear park assist and a rear parking camera. Inside, the SLT can be fitted with dual-zone automatic climate control, power-adjustable pedals, power front seats, front bucket seats with a center console, a 60/40-split rear seat, leather upholstery, heated and cooled front seats, a rear window defroster, a rear-seat entertainment system with Sirius Backseat TV, a navigation system with real-time traffic and Bluetooth, and an upgraded stereo with a six-CD changer and iPod integration.

The Sport Package (available on all cab styles) adds some of this equipment, plus the larger V8, a body-colored grille and unique bucket seats. The TRX Package, available on 4x4 Quad and crew cabs, adds skid plates, two-tone paint, heavy-duty rear shocks, tow hooks and fender flares. There are also regional option groups known as the Big Horn and Lone Star Packages, which bundle together a bunch of the SLT's optional equipment along with special badging and trim.

the MEGA cab is available again in 2010

IF you wait a couple more months, the 2010 model pickups, 1500, 2500 will all be on SALE, the 2011s are almost here, the larger trucks are here already, 3500, 4500, 5500, etc

If not worried about backseat area go with the QC and you will gain a little more box length. I have the CC with 5`7`` box.

Ok so when the 2010 go on sale, what will the MSRP be? Will it be comparable to what the 2009 are now?
