Default Shorty headers a direct replacement?

Are shorty headers a direct replacement for stock exhaust manifolds, and are they worth it, do you get a noticable gain in power?

They should bolt right up. You might have to modify the down pipe to the cats a bit.

I haven't used headers on the new HEMI engine yet so I can't say what you'll get. I did notice an increase in upper end HP on other vehicles with shorty headers but not much on the low end. A long tube set of headers seems to be best to improve low end torque.

I just put a set of Pacesetter shorty headers on my Dakota with the 5.2 they bolted right up to the stock pipes. I notice a power increase from around 1800 RPM's up.

yes shorties blt right up , i have longtubes and had to redo whole exhaust..

i got a felt a big gain though and the stock y -pipe is a big restriction also ...high flow cat would help too as stock ones a known to clog anyways and its like 80 bucks for a highflow

Thanks, i'm thinking about doing a cat back with shorty headers or full exhaust with long tube headers, just all depends on how much money i'll get.
