Default wheel help please!!

ok guys i need help with wheel questions. im getting ready for new wheels and tires on my 2006 dodge ram 1500 4x4 reg cab. i wanna replace the stock 17 inch wheels with something else. ill probably stay with 17 inch wheels but need to know all info like lug pattern, back space. i think the stock ones are 17x8 , so im assuming 17x9 will be ok but need to know all the info.

lug pattern 5x5.5 back space is probably between 18 and 20 mm.. 17x9 will fit no problem

The width of the wheel will depend on the size of tire. If your staying with the same size tire then you can just use the same size wheel but if you get a wider tire the wheel will sometimes need to be wider depending on how wide your new tire is. Any tire shop will know what size of wheel will be needed based on the tire you choose. They will also be able to tell you what the correct backspacing is for your specific application.
