I went to the dealer because the top lid of my center console had to be replaced due to a defect with the hinge. Got the truck back today and when I inspected it on the lot I noticed when they installed the new bin and lid, the mechanic drilled the screws in to far and pierced the side of my center console. The problem is now in order to fix this the entire console has to come out, keep in mind I have the sport with the shifter on the floor. My concern is if the dealer removes this peace and replaces it, I feel things just won't be the same. Any techs in here done this job before and is it a nightmare. Sorry for the long question but trying to explain the situation for some feed back. I been pissed off thinking about it.

They should fix it and do it right.

Center console isn't that hard of a job.

Yeah, what he said ^^^^! If they damaged it, they can fix it until it's done right! Cut and dry.

They are going to replace it for me, that's not the problem. I am just worried that fixing something like this would open up a can of worms. Like creeks and loose parts or possible a problem with the intergraded chargers that are in the console. My confindence is a little shakey with the dealership after they messed up just changing the lid. I heard other guys complain about noises from there cup holders and other areas on he center console. I haven't had any and now worried I might after they take mine out.

I agree with everyone here, if they didn't do it right the first time, or botched the job, it should be on them to fix it right. Good luck and keep us posted!

I agree with the other posts, they screwed up and should make it right (which means until you the customer are happy). Bottom line IMHO........

I do not think you will have any major problems it is just a console haha. If it does ever cause any problems then bring it back. If they have it in the computer that they replaced it they will fix it for you. I do not think that there will be any problems if they replace it

I can see why you would be worried but there isn't much you can do but hope they do the job right. If they don't damage the new one when they install it you can always follow up tightening up the nuts and bolts if there are any noises. At least you'll have a new console.
