Default RBZ Question

I found some RBZ radios on ebay and I want to know if 1) $350.00 is a good deal? 2) How difficult is it to upgrade from my stock RES WITHOUT UConnect? 3) What additional parts do I need to be able to use UConnect? I am going to keep looking for nav radio (Don't know what it's called) but if I do find one is there again additional hardware or does it use the sat radio antenea for GPS??

There are 2 different RBZ radios. One with SAT radio and one without. I've seen both listed on Ebay. So be sure you are looking at the correct one. As far as UConnect, you still need to add the module just like with the RES. And the dealer has to activate it with his Star tool.

If you plan on using the RBZ as is, it is pretty much plug and play. I added a camera with mine so a trip to the dealer was needed to turn it on. As a note, the 09 did not come with a RBZ so if you have that year truck, the dealer has to use the REN code since the RBZ is not on the options list. The RBZ is the REN replacement and basically the same.

On the Nav radio, which would be a RER, you would need the GPS antenna in addition to the SAT antenna. I think it is in the $40 range and gets mounted under the dash above the radio.

I bought a RBZ radio off ebay for under $300. Got lucky, it was sold from a dealer that had replaced it on a new customers car that wanted the GPS model. I also got a lockpick and camera from another seller and hooked everything up myself. No need to involve the dealer. All works awesome and got another free year of sat radio, well still remains to be seen if it will be a full year, but its been about 4 months so far.

I am wanting to change out my radio as well and have a couple questions for ya. i have 2010 ram with the reg cd radio. nothing fancy with it. If i upgrage to the RER or Ren would i need to change the dash bezel or are the radios the same size?. second, instead of bringing it to the dealer to get the cpu flashed cant i just buy the lock pick?
