UPDATE: Papers filled out and sent to Master Card stil being reviewed by Paypal.
The name of the Company in Florida that "Auto Details" is a sub. of is: Coast to Coast Int. They have the same line as their sub., "It was delivered". I also saw something about Keystone wheels in their address.

wow,in the past i have filed 2 claims with paypal, and both were resolved, and I'm not seeing how the original vendor is at fault here, he shipped the items out as promised , ups screwed up, not the vendor... the items show received, the vendor has no proof "you' didn't receive the items.

Now I am re-thinking using PayPal...and I use it a lot! Luckily, I haven't had any disputes arise but if that's how the support the buyer, that sucks.

Seems to me like the shipping rules in place to protect shippers are being exploited by more & more unscrupulous sellers. One way to start protecting ourselves better is to never just sign receipt while the UPS/FedEx/DHL/Postal delivery person dances around like they gotta pee. Make them wait until we unpack, inventory and inspect every item in the delivery so we can note shortages or damage then.

In the past I've always felt that signing for receipt as receipt for the delivery in general, not agreeing to the contents. But if PayPal and the delivery companies are, when it boils down to it, going to enable shady sellers by considering only if they have a signature then it looks like that's all we can do to protect ourselves in the long run.

I think PayPal was a lot better for the consumer before Ebay bought it.

Or, I suppose you could do what I do at work, sign the delivery receipt and write "subject to check," but I agree, if you're paying for a product, which sometimes includes paying for shipping, it's only right to expect the shipment to arrive at the correct address and in good condition.

I suppose some of this probably came out of the fact that some companies got tired of being burned by fraudulent returns and having to recoup shipping costs from people sending back "damaged" merchandise and expecting a brand new item in return. Someone has to absorb that cost. I'm not taking up for the unscrupulous sellers out there, but I can see where a few bad apples have spoiled the bunch in some cases and Dennis has a good point, the consumer has to be more responsible when it comes to checking shipments for accuracy and condition, so while the delivery person waits for the package to be inspected, they can also be standing there when we refuse it, hand it right back to them and send it back!

Paypal has rejected the claim. UPS is trying to get this resolved and has contacted both CCI(Coast to Coast int.) and AUTO DETAILS. They are trying, on my behalf to get Butthead to go ahead and file a claim and either refund my money or re-send the order I requested. (For those of you who are reading this keep in mind that the package was never delivered to me). They will pay Butthead @ Auto Details if he files a claim, and he can then either refund or reship. I also found out that CCI is just the one that ships out the product when Auto Details tells them to. UPS is also sending me proof that the package was not delivered to my address. Stay tuned for this ongoing saga.

Guess after hearing that, I'm tempted to agree with Michael and re-think using PayPal....Good to see UPS is finally getting a backbone here and admitting their culpability in this, sure will be interested to see what comes of that. I know I've had other problems with other companies in the past, so I know what a headache it can be to get something that should be simple resolved.
