I put in a PAC AOEM-CHR3 and added a amp for a sub. I get more than enough bass. I will have to check out how much it looses as I turn it up. It was easy to install, and when I do replace the head unit, it will be easy.

Actually all the access to the stereo components are easy to get to and work on.

ok so update, turns out theres only 2 screws holding the center of the dash on the 2010 1500 located UNDER the little rubber mat thing in the top tray where it says dodge, then a little gentle pressure and that whole center console pops right out.

as suspected no preouts on the factory deck so i started lookin at aftermarket and found out 2 important things

1) yes you do need a canbus module for the install (150$)
and
2) no you cant use the factory satellite radio with an aftermarket hu (so another 150ish $)

this info kinda wrecked my day when i heard it lol

tho im sure i can get both those units online for less (my only real concern is getting the right canbus so if anyone knows a part number/model that will work with the '10 1500 ram lemme know)

Chris,

I think the pac adaptor you would need is the CHA07, and you can get it for about $75, not $150.

As far as the Sirius Radio....you're gonna need a kit for that to allow the functions of Sirius to work with the new H/U. But do searches on the actual SKu's..you should be able to get it for less then $150. Check amazon and even ebay. Good luck man.
