Cool Options for 10" sub for '10 Crew Cab

Hey gang,

I have a Best Buy card burning a hole in my pocket...

Just got a new head unit and front door speakers but I'm in need of a little more bass. Are there any options for getting and installing a 10" sub at Best Buy? One wrinkle, the rear passenger seats are off limits, as I have a baby car seat occupying that space. Driver's side rear and under seats are game.

This is a bit of a stretch, but there are some informed, helpful people here...any advice/help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

What kind of music do you enjoy?

My first recommendations are the Alpine Type-R or the Infinity Kappa, but that Kenwood they carry is a good choice as well.

Thanks Chithead.

I listen to everything except gangsta rap and new country music.

I actually bought a Kenwood head unit with Pioneer speakers. I'll need to purchase the Sub and Amp, but where in the hell can I put a 10" sub?

I'm not sure but I don't think it's a big deal to have it in the back, under the rear seat, opposite side of the child seat. Tuned properly, a sub "fills" the soundstage and doesn't thump all the time unless you turn it up. Judicious volume settings while the child is in the vehicle would be advised but I don't think the back needs to be off limits.

I went with a kicker cvt BUT best buy sales the Kicker CVR which will fit in an underseat truck box. It goes for about $150 a peice though so a little pricey but for good reason. Whats your ball park budget? That makes a difference

Edit: to add to what maddog is saying I too have a child in a car seat and Im putting mine under the driverside rear seat this afternoon when new box arrives but when Installed I ran the remote wire to a toggle switch which allows me to kill the power to the amp completely when my daughter is with me. I did it on a budget but there are several amps out there that come with an adj knob that u mount on the dash wherever you see fit to turn it down from the drivers seat when needed.

Thanks for the advice/help.

NIGHTRUNNER - What kind of box did you get?

Does BestBuy sell any box or box+enclosure that fits the '10 Dodge Ram Crew Cab?

I found a single 12" vented sub box online its pretty standard box for the crew cab but I suggest buying a box on the computer over BEST BUY. Their boxes arent cheap and you can find the same box or something similar to it online for a fraction of the cost.

Heres is a link to my install..Hope this gives ya an idea and LMK if I can be of further assistance.

Helluva install Nightrunner!

Where did you buy the sub box?

Thanks again for all your help. I've had my new truck for about 18 days, so I'm still figuring everything out.
