This whole alarm thing has me curios. My 2004 Ram had factory alarm, with the RKE and key as separate items (typical of the year). If I used the normal key to manually unlock the truck, it disabled the alarm. Also, one turn of the key unlocked the drivers door, and a second turn, unlocked the remaining doors. Same as 1 push on the RKE, and a second push to unlock all.
With my 08 (also factory alarm), if I manually unlocked the door with the key, it did NOT disable the alarm, and a second turn of the key did NOT unlock the rest of the doors. My 10 is the same as my 08.
Also noticed with my 04, the key turned easier in the lock than the other 2 trucks, but I did notice the slight resistance on the first turn as it 'Manually' moved the linkage....but only for part of the turn, then the power lock completed the unlock process.
My question here is, they had a great system back in 04....why the regression?
