Default water spot removal

ended up with some water spot imprints on my hood scoop. used rubbing and polishing compounds and waxed the hell out of it - still there at certain angles...

i don't have a buffer, what else could i use to take these out?

Have you tried a clay bar and then a good wax like Zymol.

I don't think spending several hundred on a wax is going to help him out

Can you post pictures?

Need to strip the wax off using the claybar and 50/50 mix of isopropyal alcohol and water. Depending on how deep the water etch is, you will want to get a heavy cut compound, I recomend Megs 105/205 and a foam pad. If you were near the KC area I could take care of it for you in about an hour if was just on your scoop.

Zymol is not that expensive. The clay bar kit at almost any auto parts store is only about $20 and the Zymol is about the same.

Clay bar kit, yes, but where are you getting the Zymol for $20?

the truck is dirty now, ill wash it and put some pictures. two weeks ago, spent an hour and a half on the scoop - thought i got them all but next day
you can only see them at certain angles, but the fact they're there bothers me.

Go to your boat or marine store. There are products made to clean boats, that will remove hard water spots. I have been able to remove hard water spots from black Mercury moters using these products. Good luck and let us know if that worked for you.
