Default Din Size for 06 Ram radio's

Hey guys, I have an 06 that i would like to replace the radio in, was curious if the radio was a double din or not, It looks like a double din will fit but would have to spend $500 or a new head unit if it will not. So any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Keith

well a double din will fit with a small amount of sanding, but you will still have to do alot more work to make it look like it was supposed to have been there to start with. If you have alot of fiberglass experience and dont mind doing the extra work to do it, it can be done. I am in the progress of doing mine right now. But will take me about a month to complete (3 kids, a wife and active duty military) which will slow me down some. From what I have heard would be easier to get the nav bezel to make it easier.

I haven't purchased a head unit yet, am in the planning stages now, I had planned on getting the nav bezel, if i do this the double din will fit? without sanding the opening, am i understanding this correctly? As an fyi, i was looking at some sort of indash unit with a dvd player, One of my friends works for an import company and can get me the pyle pld70bt unit for $50.00, I know what everyone is going to say, its a "pyle" of junk, but for $50. vs. 500 I am willing to use it since the only thing its really guna do is be a player, and all the optics and electronic components inside are the same as the jvc, alpine, and pioneer units, i was shocked when i did all the research and found this out, so what the hell..
