Default A couple of Quick Questions for a new Ram Owner

I just have a few quick questions on some simple things. I went through the entire Owner's Manual and think I have everything down except the spare tire thing. The manual says at one point there' s a "spare" under the truck..then at a later point it says aluminum tires can't fit under the truck or something to that effect.

I did locate the spare tire jack/equipment behind the plastic covering under the Passenger's seat....but did not see a spare under my Truck. Unless i'm really missing something i'm guessing there isn't one there and if that's the case i'm wondering what the benefit in having a tire jack is? lol....am I supposed to get a spare seperately and latch it under the truck?

And the other thing is i'm wondering if there's an easy way to remove the airbag warning stickers on the visors? I did with my last car (Charger) with a lot of effort and a lot of goo gone...coulnd't even tell they were there when I was done but it took a lot of effort. The thing is, those visors were "cloth"...these are a plastic type material so I"m wondering if anyone has removed the airbag warning stickers successfully?

Oh, and I did have one other question. I have the premium I sound option which apparently has 7 speakers...i'm guessing one of the speakers is a sub and there is an amp somewhere. So I was just curious where the location of the sub and amp are?

I appreciate any feedback/assistance with these few things...and hope everyone's enjoyin' their 4th!

Well, if there's no spare under the bed behind the bumper, there's no spare. Not too many places they can hide one.

Is there a small hole in the rear bumper next to the license plate that the jack bar will fit into to lower a spare?

Is there a cradle & cable under the truck between the frame rails to hold a spare?

Those visor decals are tough to get off. I ended up covering them with some billet aluminum pieces that covered them in my SRT8.

What year is your truck? It would be helpful if you went to your User CP, then Edit Details and added that info.

The Infinity sound system has 7 speakers (three in the dash, one per front door, one per side in the back) and the amp on that system is behind the glovebox. Some model years have it behind the center bezel, below the head unit.

On that system, one of the front door spkrs acts as a sub. I didn't like mine so I replaced the Infinity amp with a Kicker Mopar accessory amp (77KICK18AB) and I'll add one or two 10" subs in the back with a separate amp later.

Welcome to this ForumZ from San Diego

If you would just fill in the User CP form located at the top left of any page, with at least the trucks info, it would help us to help you & all we know right now is that you have a RAM

the spare should be hidden in the area behind your rear license plate

if you have the same sound system that i have, there are speakers above the rear seat in the roof liner & if you lift the bottom of the back seat, you may have the hard plastic thingy under it, it may be fastened with a couple straps, lift it up, there should be a large speaker under it

look at the door post kicker panel, at floor level, you will see another speaker location

Hey Maddog and GtYankee, thx for the heads-up. First, i've filled in my Ram's info in my profile like you suggested. I went back and checked again and looked from under the sides up..didn't realize the spare was dead in the back under the bumper...it's a 17'' tire but sure enough it was there...thanks!

As far as the sound system...it says "Alpine" on what I believe is the "Center" speaker on my dash. It says I have the Premium "I" sound package which is supposed to include 7 speakers. I don't have a back seat as I have the 2 door, regular cab, SLT edition. I'm just trying to figure out where they'd fit 7 speakers in a 2 seater. I like the sound Quality though...much clearer and louder then the stock Sound system in the Charger R/T road and track.

As far as the decals...yeah, I figured that would be the answer. I'm familiar with Billet, dealt with Heidi a year ago or so for a few small pieces when I had my Charger. She's a great lady. I don't want to go through what I did removing them on the Charger, so I guess (for now) i'll just let them stay. : )

Thanks for all the helpful info...it's much appreciated.

I bet there are a couple of speakers in the cab side panels behind the seat.

Yep, but no true 'sub' on the RC,,,

3 in dash,,, (L, Center, R)
2 down low in door kick panels (1L + 1R)..
2 more low in the posts (1L + 1R)

It's an OK system,,, (I had a BI-AMP set up w/downfire subs and component speakers in my old Reg Cab Siverado, so yeah, the OEM Alpine system is,,,, OK...)
