Default Ram Power Antenna or some Cap?

I saw a similiar question asked on a specific model forum but my question is just in general. I've always thought those lanky medal antenna's look terrible and to me it makes cars look like "remote controlled" cars....anyway, i'm curious if 1 or 2 things can be done. I purchased a Sirius lifetime plan years ago which I'll transfer to my Ram after the 1 year subsription ends and listen to Sirius most of the time anyway. I don't really listen to FM/AM radio but I was wondering if a power antenna could be added to the "rer" stock head units that come with our Rams.

That way the antenna will be down most, if not all the time. If that can't be done, can the stock antenna just be removed and some cap/plug installed in it's place for cosmetic purposes? I don't care about using the radio if the power antenna option won't work. Any thoughts on this?

Another option would be to replace your factory antenna with a black stubby antenna. They look pretty cool if you ask me. They come in a couple different sizes, check them out.

@ DSPTY,

thanks man. So you're saying they have some black stubby antennas that would actually allow the FM/AM radio to still work with the stock Head units? If so, do you have any links handy or part numbers? Thanks, man.

Exactly, you would still be able to use your radio (reception is altered a little) and your exterior appearance would look a lot better. Here's a link to one (just to give you an idea)

DSPY, thanks, I think this would work great. I would want black, not chrome....I did a quick search myself and saw 2 models..a 13'' "euro" model and a 14'' billet model...both are rubber. (Linked Below) Any suggestions on which one would look nicer?

@ MADDOG, I saw that too....has anyone used that hidden antenna/delete kit? Any feedback on it? As I said, I don't really need to use the antenna at all...so that would seem sweet.

DSPTY,

The Autoloc Antenna that you linked looks like it would be perfect for what i'm looking for. I read the thread you linked and the member that did the mod said you have to fill the stock antenna hole with "something." I know this may seem like a silly question, but I already see the factory antenna screws right off with my own fingers...so i'm curious when I take it off..what would I fill the hole with? Any suggestions?

That's a good question, sorry I don't have a clue. I would leave a message on Kurtis' profile page and see what he says.
