My only concern with the Magnaflow is it will be just slightly too quiet. LOL! I am probably the worst exhaust consumer out there, I'm way too picky. Just wish I could install all the mufflers on there and listen to each one back to back. Oh well, I"ll pick one and hopefully like the sound. Does Magnaflow have resonators you can take out?
I couldnt agree more. I wish i had one of each tto listen to. Everyones cameras and mics are different. I have had about 10 different setups on my 5.9 alone and went with SS shorty headers, SS highflo
w cat and a flowmaster 10 series race muffler. Dumped them right at the muffler with Pypes SS turndowns.

Yeah, I hear ya. Sounds like you have gone through a bunch of systems, but definitely sounds like you have a very nice setup now. Eventually I'd like to do headers myself. Do you have to get a tuner when you do headers and hi-flow cat?

Hey Everyone im having the same problem as dewzram. Its extremely hard to decide on a muffler/exhaust system without trying every single canidate out. I currently have a glasspack with a y pipe( bought the truck like that). Its starting to rust out and im looking to get a new system. And im planning on getting a set of summit shorty headers for 179. just need some guidance with what system to go with

Well for me it ended up coming down to two things, sound or longevity/quality and maybe it was a stupid decision, but I went with the "sound" and never looked back. I get compliments all the time at how well the 40 series Flowmaster sounds. I only have a catback setup, so I'm sure with your headers and y-pipe, I'm sure it would be extremely loud. I was considering the MagnaFlow for their Stainless quality but just figured it wouldn't give me the Flowmaster sound that I've come to love over the years from my Mustangs/Camaros I've had. Just a powerful proper V8 sound to it and enough to let those around me know that I'm there. In the summer I find myself turning the radio off just to enjoy the sounds burbling from the ole 360. So it's hard to say which to go with, it's so subjective and I'm sure they are all great mufflers/systems in their own right, but for me it's hard to go wrong with Flowmasters. To me it's like Vance & Hines on a Harley, just can't go wrong with that proper sound. Good luck!

Right on man! I'm sure you won't regret it. Magnaflow definitely makes a more quality muffler, I won't dispute that. When you're done you'll have one of the best sounding trucks out there. For some reason these old 360's just have a more proper V8 rumble to them than most all the newer V8's do. I'm a true Mopar guy these days, but I will say that new 6.2L in the Raptor is one sweet sounding badboy. I'd say next to the PowerWagon it's my favorite gas powered pickup for sure.

Good luck with your system man, I think you'll love it!
