Default My 2007 MYGIG install

This is my MYGIG istall on my 2007 1500 Big Horn. I replaced my REF Head Unit with a RER MYGIG. Hopefully this gives some information to anyone wanting to do this upgrade.

Components purchased from ebay and coastaletech. Here is a list of components that I used for the install.

RER MYGIG Head Unit LOW SPEED
MYGIG Lockpick Adapter install.pdf
MYGIG Michrophone
Dodge REC Radio Bezel
Radio Filler Bezel
RER GPS Antenna
Sirius Extension Cable (1.4 meters)
Apple Composite AV Cable

Plan 1-2 hours for your install.

First you have to remove two phillips head screws located in the green circles. Then pull off the radio bezel, this may difficult and you may have to pry it a little. I wrapped a screwdriver with foam tape to avoid damage to the dash.

Disconnect 4X4, Heater/AC controls and cigarette and aux power connectors. Then remove radio bezel.

Swap 4X4, Heater/AC controls cubby hole trays to the new bezel using a phillips head screwdriver.

Grey 10 pin connector will not be used on the MYGIG. It is for the external Sirius tuner. The MYGIG has a built in Sirius tuner.

The 10 pin connector on the mygig is used for uconnect Michrophone. It can be purchased at coastaletech. Sorry I forgot to take pics of my michrophone location. I ran it so it barely pokes out in front of instrument cluster, close to the oil temp guage.

The upper dash panel simply lifts off. I used my handy screwdriver wrapped in foam for the initial pry.

I mounted the GPS Antenna in the center speaker location.

Mount the radio in the bottom screw holes.

The filler bezel snaps into the dodge REC bezel.

I mounted the MYGIG Adapter behind the glove box using two side foam tape. The wires tuck nicely in the existing clips.

Run the Sirius Extension cable from the back of the head unit to the passenger kick panel. Plug it into your OEM Sirius antenna.

Run the apple AV cable into the glove box.

Finished Product.

Later I will post the backup camera install.

Nice work! I put my GPS antenna in the same place when I upgraded to the REC NAV unit.

I have one question, what is the part number or where can I get Sirius Extension Cable (1.4 meters)? That is all I lack to be complete.

Thank You,
Bob

This is what took me the longest to figure out and hardest to find. Here is the ebay link for the cable that I bought. You could also use a shorter cable by pluging it into the sirius tuner behind your glove box. Make sure you get a Fakra K Radio IF color curry male-female extension cable. Here is a link to help guide you with the connectors. www.pasternack.com sells the cables (FAKRA Straight Jack To FAKRA Straight Plug; PE-C100 Coax; Key Code K) Part number PE38748K-XX (XX represents length in inches) but they require a $50 minimum purchase.

I hope this helps.
