Default Hemi is hard to start sometimes

My 2007 Hemi ram runs great, and starts right up most of the time. Every ten starts or so it will crank for about 5-10 second before it will start for some reason. A couple of months ago it shut off and i had a hard time getting it to start, but it hasn't shut off on me since then. Any idea what could be causing this? Thanks

Welcome to the forum.

I'd start with a throttle body cleaning and check your fuel pressure as well.

Dirty throttle body is a likely suspect. Give it a good cleaning. http://www.ramforumz.com/showthread.php?t=46764

I got the throttle body all cleaned up, i will let you know later this week if it cured the problem. Just for future ref. how would i check the fuel pressure on this truck? I've never done that with fuel injection before. Thanks

Attach a fuel pressure gauge to the fuel line or on the fuel rail depending on what type setup you have. Once it's hooked up, activate the pump.

I know this may sound stupid but it happens to me sometimes as well. If you park for a while on a slight slope the gas sits away from the outlet and does not get to the motor effectively. I park like that at home and when I have a low tank of gas it happens to me.
