What did you use to connect the PVC to the throttle body? I was looking at the rubber plumbing couplers the other day and couldn't find anything that matched close enough

The TB on the gen. 4 is 3+1/8". I used a 3.5" rubber coupler (if memory serves). Just big enough to fit over the PVC and then I just cranked it down with a hose clamp till it was tight on the TB. I got it at Lowes. Since the fitting is rubber you can really compress it. A good tip is that once you get it install and drive a few miles the heat will make it more flexable and you can tighten it more. I carried a screwdriver around in my pocket the first few times I went anywhere and adjusted it several times untill it wasen't really getting any tighter anymore and then called it good.

Yea I looked at the 3" rubber couplers, which are 3.5" ID and figured it would be too big.

Well with 3.5" ID on the coupler and 3-1/8" OD on the TB there is only 3/8" difference to make up. The way I look at it that's only 3/16" all the way around. It wasen't a tight fit obviously but with the hose clamp it's pretty snug.

This is exactly what I want to do. I own a 2009 RamHemi crew cab w/variable cylinder engine. Stock completely.
I want to install better intake and exhaust to improve MPG w/o making any NOISE. I like the quiet, don't like having to look for a gas station on every corner.
If you can/will, I need all pix sent to: jdayzd33@hotmail.com
This mod will go on my truck only and my daughters 2009 RamHemi quad cab.
We plan to purchase the diablo sport tuner w/usb connector so we can tune our trucks for better HP thus better mpg.
My daughter wants the noise tho . She's young and has lots of money.
Once again very cool idea and pix. I hope you don't mind if I try to make the same getup for our Ramz.

To be honest it's not all that loud. Only if I really get on the accelerator can I tell a difference in terms of sound.

Unfortunatly I did not take any pics durring construction (what was I thinking) so the pics I posted are the only decent ones I took. I can e-mail them if you want ... you could also just right click and save them.

On the hemi (this gen included if I'm not mistake but check with the guys on the Hemi board) the TB faces up and not out like on my 4.7L. You will need to adapt to that of course as well. What I recommend (and did) was drop in at lowes and buy everything I though I could possibly need. Lot's of 45's and 90's, different fittings coupler and grommets, etc. I figured out what I actually needed at home, built the intake, then returned everything else and bought paint.

As I fitted the pieces I marked them (with a sharpie) with letters to indicate order from the TB and marked contiguous lines on adjacent pieces so I could line them up exactly the same way when I glued everything. Once I was happy with the fit I dissassembled, then glued everything and let it set as per the instructions on the PVC cement. 2-3 coats of matte black paint with a plasic bonding agent, K&N decal, filter, and install for good.

Hope that help you with your project.

This setup is pretty much exactly what i plan on doing with my 4.7 but I want to utilize the stock air filter box. I've got a K&N drop in filter in there now and think that its a pretty good CAI but I want to make it more free flowing to the TB. Think this set up would work with 3.5 inch PVC and 3.5 inch rubber couplers?
