Default OEM Front Air Deflector

Just had the dealer install an OEM air deflector...put 1000 miles on this last weekend...it seemed like the windsheild got MORE bugs on it than before the deflector was on it. Any experiences like this? I am planning to do an experiment on and off (after my dealer gets me some spare plastic insert nuts in case of strippage). Just curious, this is the first one they had installed on a '10.

Thanks,

k

Guess it deflected the bugs away from the grille and right to the windshield eh? Seriously, though, I've never had a bug deflector myself but that's owing to the fact that I never really saw where they did any real good, but that's just one person's opinion. Any pics of it? I'll be curious as to the outcome of your experiment.

i have a chrome OEM one on my new sport a week after i got the truck. i have NOT noticed more bugs on my windshield though. IMHO it also helps protect your hood from rocks and what sort. maybe there are more bugs around your area now???? i know around my area the amount of bugs has surely gotten worse in the past month.

I agree, I think they serve more of an ornamental purpose than actually deflect bugs.

I think the purpose is to protect the hood, not the windshield. To do that, you'd need one that sticks up about 6" or more to change the airflow over the truck.
